The St Andrew’s Anglican Church (SAAC) Men’s End-of-Year Dinner and Get-Together Party
The SAAC Men’s Fellowship hosted their annual end-of-year dinner and get-together party in grand style, on Sunday 15th December 2024 at 4:00PM, bringing together members and their spouses for a night of gratitude, unity, and celebration, at the Victory Hall of St. Andrews Church, GRA Zaria.
The evening began with an opening prayer led by the respected Ven. Isuwa Saidu, setting the tone for a spiritually enriching and joyous event. The program, moderated by Mr. Obinna Ogwu in conjunction with Mr. Chuks Mba, was a harmonious blend of worship, addresses, entertainment, and camaraderie.

Highlights of the Evening
The program featured an opening address by the Fellowship’s Chairman and President, Barr. F.M. Ekeke, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for His faithfulness throughout the year. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among members, quoting Chinua Achebe: “When we gather in the evening moonlight, we do so not because the people can’t see it from their side/home, but because it is good for kinsmen to live in unity and peace” He commended the collective efforts of the Fellowship in sustaining the church’s mission and encouraged continued prayers and support.





The Vicar, in his address, appreciated the men of the church for their unwavering support since his arrival. He highlighted the critical role of men in fostering a vibrant and active church community, noting their generosity and commitment. He also extended apologies on behalf of the Bishop, who was unable to attend due to prior commitments.
Memorable Moments
A special recognition was given to Dr. and Mrs. Jackreece, the immediate past president, alongside Ven. and Mrs. Isuwa Saidu, and other dignitaries.
The evening’s atmosphere was electrified with a couples’ dance session, symbolizing love and togetherness.
The Rev. Can. Felix Afolabi blessed the dinner, which featured a variety of sumptuous dishes, enjoyed by all in a buffet-style setting.
The gathering was marked by warmth and fellowship, as participants celebrated the achievements of the year and looked forward to a brighter future.
Closing Remarks
The Vice Chairman, Mr. Uwakwe, delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all who contributed to the event’s success. Special thanks were extended to notable individuals, including Prof. Jerry Buhari, Mr. Izuchukwu Okonkwo, Dr. Umorem, and Prince Nwokocha.
The closing prayers by Rev. Moses Solomon were a powerful benediction, blessing the homes of all present and expressing hope for a joyous reunion in the coming year. The event concluded with the grace of fellowship at exactly 6:08 PM, accompanied by a final music interlude.
