Guild of Steward (Ushering Team)

Overview

The Diocesan Guild of Stewards, commonly known as the Ushering Ministry, is an important lay ministry within the Anglican Diocese of Zaria. The Guild is responsible for maintaining order, hospitality, and proper coordination during church services and major diocesan events.

Members of the Guild serve as the first point of contact for worshippers and visitors entering the church, offering guidance, assistance, and a welcoming presence that reflects the love and fellowship of the Christian community.

Through their dedication and disciplined service, the Guild of Stewards contributes significantly to creating a reverent and organized atmosphere for worship and fellowship across the Diocese.


Vision of the Guild of Stewards

The vision of the Diocesan Guild of Stewards is to provide faithful and efficient service in the house of God while promoting orderliness, hospitality, and excellence in church worship and administration.

The Guild strives to ensure that every worshipper who attends services within the Diocese experiences a welcoming and spiritually uplifting environment.


Mission and Purpose

The mission of the Guild of Stewards within the Anglican Diocese of Zaria includes:

  • Ensuring proper organization during worship services and church events
  • Providing assistance and guidance to worshippers and visitors
  • Supporting the clergy and church leadership during services
  • Maintaining order and decorum within the church environment
  • Promoting a spirit of hospitality within the Christian community

Roles and Responsibilities

Members of the Diocesan Guild of Stewards perform several important duties during church services and diocesan gatherings.

  • Maintaining order and decorum during services
  • Coordinating offerings and collections during worship

Service During Major Diocesan Events

Zaria Diocese

The Anglican Diocese of Zaria was created out of the present Kaduna Diocese and inaugurated on the 7th of March, 2007 as the 99th Diocese in the Church of Nigeria with the Rt. Rev’d. (Prof) CSS Bello as the Pioneer Bishop. After him was the Rt. Rev’d. Abiodun Ogunyemi, then Rt. Rev’d Dr. Timothy Yahaya as supervising Bishop. The current Bishop is the Rt. Rev’d Ishaya Baba.
