Day 2 of the Zaria Gospel Campaign: A Night of Restoration and Redemption
Theme: Redeeming Love (Titus 2:11-15)
Venue: St. Michael’s Anglican Church, Aminu Road, Zaria, Kaduna State
Date: Thursday, 12th December 2024
Host: Rt. Rev’d Ishaya Baba, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Zaria
The Anglican Diocese of Zaria continued its Zaria Gospel Campaign on Thursday, December 12, 2024, with a power-packed Day 2 session. Centered around the theme Redeeming Love (Titus 2:11-15), the event drew worshippers from across the region to experience God’s restoration and deliverance.
The evening began with a spirit-filled opening session led by the Diocesan Band, as worship and praises filled the atmosphere. Testimonies and special numbers from members further prepared hearts for the move of God.
Message of Hope: Restoration Through God’s Redeeming Love
The guest preacher, Evangelist Joshua Oguche, took the pulpit following a warm welcome by the Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev’d Ishaya Baba. The Evangelist called on the congregation to thank God for His unending grace and mercy. His ministration was a profound exploration of restoration, anchored on Joel 2:25:
“I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten—the swarming locust, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust.”
Evangelist Oguche illustrated the enemy’s strategy to steal, kill, and destroy, likening it to the destructive patterns of locusts. However, he declared that God’s redeeming love overcomes every scheme of the enemy. “What seems impossible, like dry bones coming back to life, can be made possible through God’s restorative power,” he affirmed, referencing the story of Lazarus in John 11:43.
The congregation was encouraged to have unwavering faith, seek personal encounters with God, and believe in total restoration. Testimonies of miraculous healings during the prayer sessions underscored the mighty presence of God. An elderly woman testified to relief from long-term ailments, and others rose to share their experiences of healing and deliverance.
Special Prayers and Declarations
Rev. Can. Saidu Danlami led the intercessory prayers, invoking Isaiah 32:15 and praying for God’s intervention in all areas of life. Special prayers were also offered for captives, especially those abducted by kidnappers, and for the restoration of families, careers, and businesses.
Evangelist Oguche emphasized the need for individuals to break free from limitations and bondage, citing Mark 11:2:
“The Lord needs you; be loosed to fulfill your destiny.”
Prayers were declared for freedom from ancestral and territorial powers, with the congregation fervently claiming their deliverance in Jesus’ name.
Closing Charge and Call to Action
The evening concluded with a powerful summary by Bishop Ishaya Baba, who reminded the congregation that God’s redeeming love ties believers to Him, offering lasting peace and restoration.
He invited worshippers to return for the final day of the campaign, which will feature a special session for the youth, led by the Anglican Youth Fellowship (AYF) President, Sister Blessing Ehijiator. He encouraged all to bring someone along, declaring that the anointing of God will meet everyone at their point of need.
