Bishop’s Message: A Pastoral Welcome

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

On behalf of the clergy, officers, and faithful members of the Anglican Diocese of Zaria, I warmly welcome you to the official website of our Diocese. We give thanks to God for the opportunity to extend our ministry beyond the walls of our churches and into the digital space where people from across Nigeria and around the world can learn about the life and mission of our Diocese.

The Diocese of Zaria, as part of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), is committed to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ faithfully, nurturing believers in sound biblical teaching, and serving our communities with compassion and integrity.

Our Calling as a Diocese

The Church exists to bear witness to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. In the Diocese of Zaria, we understand this calling as both a spiritual and practical responsibility. Our mission is to raise faithful disciples of Christ who will influence their homes, communities, institutions, and the wider society with Christian values.

Our Diocese is blessed with vibrant congregations, devoted clergy, and committed lay members who continue to serve God faithfully in different parts of our region. Through worship, evangelism, discipleship, and acts of service, we seek to advance the Kingdom of God and bring hope to people in every community we serve.

In a world facing many social, economic, and moral challenges, the Church must remain a beacon of truth, hope, and transformation. Our task as Christians is to live out the teachings of Christ with humility, love, and faithfulness.

Our Vision for the Diocese

As Bishop, my vision is to see a Diocese that is spiritually vibrant, mission-focused, and deeply rooted in the Word of God. We desire to strengthen the faith of believers while expanding the reach of the Gospel into new communities.

This vision involves several key priorities:

  • Strengthening biblical teaching and discipleship in all our parishes
  • Encouraging spiritual renewal and deeper commitment to prayer
  • Expanding evangelism and church planting efforts
  • Promoting youth development and leadership formation
  • Supporting the growth and welfare of clergy and church workers
  • Encouraging peaceful coexistence and responsible Christian witness in society

Through these efforts, we trust God to lead us into greater effectiveness in fulfilling the mission of the Church.

A Church for the Community

The Church is not only called to worship but also to serve. The Anglican Diocese of Zaria remains committed to contributing positively to the spiritual, moral, and social development of our communities.

Our ministries seek to support families, nurture young people, strengthen community relationships, and promote values that encourage peace, justice, and responsible leadership.

We believe that the Gospel has the power to transform lives and communities, and we remain committed to sharing this message faithfully.

Invitation to Fellowship

Whether you are a member of the Anglican Church, a Christian from another tradition, or someone simply seeking to learn more about the Christian faith, we invite you to explore the life and ministry of our Diocese through this website.

We encourage you to:

  • Join us in worship when you are in our communities
  • Participate in our ministries and outreach programs
  • Pray for the mission and growth of the Diocese
  • Partner with us in advancing the work of the Gospel

The Church is a community of faith, hope, and love, and there is always room for you to become part of what God is doing among us.

A Word of Blessing

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you always.

May God continue to guide and strengthen us as we work together in His vineyard.

Yours in Christ’s service,

The Rt. Rev’d Ishaya G. Baba
